Our History

KLF Nirmal's story began in Irinjalakuda, Kerala, when K. L. Francis started milling coconut oil more than 80 years ago. Built over three generations, the business has grown from a single rented mill into KLF Nirmal Industries, with manufacturing facilities in Kerala and Tamil Nadu.

Our work remains rooted in coconuts and the people who grow them. KLF sources coconuts directly from farmers and manufactures products in its own factories. Over time, the portfolio has grown to include coconut oil and related products across brands such as Nirmal, Coconad, Tilnad and Cocosoft.

Growing Through Our Own Processes

In 2001, KLF developed its Vacuumised Steam Injected Cooking (VSIC) milling method for coconut oil. The company later commissioned a cold-press facility in 2015 to produce virgin coconut oil. These capabilities support a broader range of coconut-based products while keeping manufacturing and quality checks central to the process.

From Kerala to Customers Further Afield

KLF's reach has expanded beyond its Kerala roots, with exports beginning in 2001 and manufacturing operations across two states. The company's history continues to be shaped by coconut sourcing, in-house production and a focus on product quality.

Today, KLF Nirmal continues to build on this legacy by bringing coconut-based products to households and customers in India and overseas.
